Deep Architectural Breakdown

ManQ-PsyGate is engineered to surpass the limitations of legacy volume choppers. By combining an analog-modeled multi-mode filter, per-step pan, saturation drive, pitch transposition, and probability engines directly into a lock-free real-time DSP core, PsyGate transforms static audio into animated, dynamic musical textures.

Each parameter lane functions as an independent sequencer loop with customizable step lengths (2 to 64 steps):

  • Gate / Velocity: Controls VCA envelope depth with dedicated Legato Tie toggles.
  • Cutoff: Multiplies or modulates analog filter cutoff frequencies per step.
  • Pan: Hard and soft stereo balance positioning per step.
  • Drive: Step-sequenced non-linear harmonic saturation.
  • Pitch: Monophonic transposition (-24 to +24 semitones) for hypnotic arpeggios.
  • Probability: Generative step-trigger likelihood (0% to 100%).
